Job Coaching Services
Job coaching consists of one-on-one instruction to help participants learn job tasks and to adjust to the work environment. Job coaching services are provided to assist individuals maintain employment. Qualified and experienced staff provide job coaching services that include: emphasizing the person’s strengths and weaknesses on the job, working with the individual to correct the weaknesses and discussing the individual's work performance with the supervisor, coaching the individual on work habits such as time management, punctuality, speed, interpersonal relationships, handling criticism, task training, and travel training.
The service is typically provided at the individual’s employment site. The length of job coaching support services varies depending on the needs of the individual and it will be addressed in the job coaching plan.

What is a Job Coach?
A Job Coach provides individualized support to employees in the workplace to help them learn and perform their job successfully. The role of a Job Coach is to support both the employee and employer throughout the onboarding process.
It is important to note that Job Coaches are not the employer's trainers and do not replace workplace training provided by the employer. Employers remain responsible for providing stand job-specific training, orientation, and supervision.
How a Job Coach Supports the Workplace
A Job Coach may:
- Assist the employee in understanding and applying workplace training provided by the employer.
- Provide additional instruction, reinforcement, and practice of job tasks after initial training has been delivered.
- Help identify and implement workplace adaptations or accommodations that support the employee's success.
- Assist with developing effective workplace adaptations or accommodations that support the employee's success.
- Support communication between the employee, supervision, and coworkers when needed.
- Clarify workplace expectations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with problem-solving workplace challenges and promoting employee independence.
- Monitor progress and gradually reduce support as the employee becomes more confident and independent in their role.
