Hard Work Pays Off for 56 IKRON Graduates
On May 4, a very special group of people gathered at the IKRON office to celebrate.
Family, friends, and IKRON staff gathered to witness 56 IKRON participants become IKRON graduates. Staff members talked of the hard work that brought each graduate to this day, while graduates shared their determination to build on the progress they’ve made and continue to succeed. For some IKRON participants, this graduation day is their first one ever.
Executive Director Randy Strunk told graduates, “Whatever barriers you faced when you arrived at IKRON, they are now managed better. Some of those barriers are in the past, some never to impact you again the way they once did. You are a new you: successful, confident, proud, and beginning a new chapter of your life, a new path that will continue to lead you to future achievements and successes.”
IKRON participants are eligible to graduate once they obtain employment or meet an educational goal, such as earning a GED or starting a college or training program. IKRON graduates have built the skills they needed to apply for jobs, navigate the interview process, and be successful in the workforce, all while addressing their barriers to employment.
Graduates found jobs with 44 different employers throughout the Greater Cincinnati area, including businesses like Aegis Security, Bell Event Center, Compass Group, First Watch, TriHealth, and many more. Additionally, graduated earned GEDs or ServSafe Certifications.
We couldn’t be prouder to wish our graduates well in their new journeys, but our work isn’t done: another set of participants is working hard right now to achieve their goals and graduate from IKRON in October. More details to be announced soon, so be sure you’re connected with IKRON so you don’t miss a thing: sign up for IKRON Ink, our quarterly newsletter, and follow IKRON on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
