50 For 50 #4: Gaining Confidence

As part of our day program, participants have the opportunity to utilize various on-site fitness programs in order to work on fitness goals, increase their stamina, and enjoy the mental health benefits of exercise.
Ronnie*, a participant with physical challenges, was hesitant to engage in this part of the program. After a few days and with encouragement from staff and fellow participants, he started participating in fitness activities bit by bit. Weeks later, Ronnie's confidence in his physical abilities had increased to the point that he was eager to join in fitness sessions and yoga classes.
Ronnie understands how incorporating physical activity into his day makes him feel better and also helps him be ready for the day-to-day activities of employment.
