This is the nineteenth in a continuing series of stories--one every day for 50 days--to conclude IKRON's year-long celebration of our 50th anniversary. Missed one? No problem! See the entire series on our news page here.

Today's story comes from current participant Brittany, who wrote the following poem. Brittany describes her poem thusly:

People can accomplish their dreams, but don't know what they can achieve until they go out and pursue it. I know it's a struggle, but I gotta have faith because God has a bigger plan for us. I've been writing since I was 8 but never pursued my dreams because I didn't think it was good enough. But I figured it out as I got older and my faith grew stronger. I realized I AM good enough, and so are you! I want to share my testimony to the world. Young and wise with lots of wisdom. Never lose hope; God being for me is more than the world being against me.

My Brain Has Too Many Tabs Open
People don't know what they can achieve
I know it's hard, but we're not promised and guaranteed
Life is what people make it out to be
But there's so much pain, wanna make me go overseas
It's hard to trust and believe
All of my dreams are locked, nobody can find the keys
This world is a headache, I need a lot of Aleve
Ready to leave
Going insane with all this suffer and pain
My life is flooded with rain
They say it gets better but it's still the same
But I know no one is the one to blame
I gotta be the one to make the change
But I was taught go chase your dreams
I was told never wait for things
Never had nothing so I pray for everything

Many thanks to Brittany for sharing her poem with us and with you! Many of our participants find outlets in creativity, be it art, music, writing, dance, or other ways of expressing themselves.
